President Nicolás Maduro vows to build a “communal, democratic state of the people,” shaking the foundations of the Venezuelan Bourgeois state. Over 6k representatives from movements across Venezuela came to Caracas for the “Bolivarian Historic Bloc Congress for the 21st Century” between November 14-16. The aim of the congress is to develop a 30-year plan centered on the refoundation of the “bourgeois state” into a democracy of a direct, grassroots-based nature.
During its inauguration on Thursday, Venezuelan VP Delcy Rodríguez stated that now is the time for advancing a “truly communal state” based in Bolivarian doctrine. She also urged the Historic Bloc Congress to position Venezuela as an “anti-fascist bastion” adding that their mission “should be guided by the unity of the world’s peoples in a collective struggle against fascism and Zionism.”
The plenary session was held on Saturday to present its final proposals but meetings will continue regularly.
