WASHINGTON DC, Jan 20th (RTSG) – Our reporter Louis visited the capital on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration to collect interviews, including one of U.S. Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania.
John Fetterman is a Democratic party member that has served as the Commonwealth’s Senator since 2023. While he called himself a ‘progressive’ for years, even running with the slogan of “Progressive. Simple. Sacred. The union way of life” during his 2020 campaign for the Senate, he has since begun walking back many of his previously held positions and more progressive-leaning rhetoric.
“I really want Israel to destroy and kill every last Hamas member.”
He gained national attention during his 2022 Senate campaign, which he won despite suffering a stroke earlier that year. His recovery and resilience have been central to his public narrative, and he focused on grassroots activism and working-class representation, advocating for issues like criminal justice reform, marijuana legalization, and economic equality. However, in early January this year, he was accused to ‘cozying up to Trump’ after visiting President Trump’s Mar-a-lago estate in Florida.
He has also recently sharpened his rhetoric towards Palestine and firmly stood behind Israel, which has conducted a genocide in the gaza strip.
We asked Mr. Fetterman what his thoughts were on the recently negotiated ceasefire deal in Gaza between Hamas and Israel. He stated that “Well, it must be an incredible development for the hostages and their families, but I really want Israel to destroy and kill every last Hamas member. I fully support that. And waste all of what’s left of the Iranians’ nuclear facility.”
We also questioned Fetterman on his opinions about the H-1B visa controversy. The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US employers to hire foreign professionals in specialized fields, particularly technology. The US tech sector heavily relies on H-1B visa holders.
Fetterman said that “Well, I think that’s mostly more about the other side kind of issue, but I’m very pro immigration, but I was a co sponsor of Laken (Laken Riley Act), and I’m gonna vote to confirm that later today.”
“Very pro immigration, but I’d love to protect our dreamers. I’m co sponsoring that with my friend from Alabama. So, a secure border, and being pro immigration, is pretty compatible for me anyway.”
John Fetterman recently also called Trump’s plan to occupy Gaza “provocative”, but does not outright dismiss the idea.

One response to “EXCLUSIVE: Interview with U.S. Senator John Fetterman on the eve of the inauguration”
Keep it coming. Across the West these people are the bought and paid for rent-a-gobs of the ruling class who shit on the working class. Their welfare is warfare, they’re Nazi and Zionist forever war imperialists. Most never had an idea to call their own. They never admit to lying, they call it, “speaking rhetorically.”
